CJ CheilJedang invites international MBA candidates to join our 2025 Global Summer Internship at our headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. This intensive 8-week program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions within the food industry. It’s designed for MBA students eager to contribute to CJ CheilJedang’s strategic growth through impactful M&A activities that drive our global expansion. As an Intern, you will be deeply involved in evaluating and executing potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships that align with CJ’s vision for global leadership in the Food and FMCG sectors.

Job Description

01 Period/Location

03 What You’ll Do

You’ll be fully integrated into the CJ CheilJedang Seoul HQ M&A Team, where you’ll work on identifying and analyzing potential M&A opportunities that can significantly contribute to CJ’s global growth.

Your key responsibilities will include:


  1. M&A Opportunity Identification: You will identify potential targets for mergers and acquisitions in the food and CPG industries, aligning with CJ’s strategic objectives.
  2. Financial Modeling and Valuation: You will develop and analyze financial models to evaluate the potential value of M&A targets, assessing the financial impact and risks involved.
  3. Due Diligence Support: You will assist in the due diligence process, including detailed analysis of financial statements, market positioning, and operational capabilities of potential acquisition targets.
  4. Deal Structuring and Negotiation: You will support the structuring of deals and assist in negotiation processes to ensure alignment with CJ’s strategic and financial goals.
  5. Strategic Analysis: You will analyze and report on the potential synergies and strategic fit of M&A targets, contributing to the overall strategy of CJ’s global expansion.

Through this internship, you will gain invaluable experience in M&A activities and play a critical role in CJ CheilJedang’s global growth strategy.

04 Who You Are

[Minimum Qualifications]


  • Commitment: Able to commit to an on-site, full-time internship.
  • Academic Status: Currently enrolled in or graduated from MBA program, with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and July 2026.
  • Relocation: Willing to relocate to our CJ CheilJedang offices in Seoul, South Korea, for the duration of the internship.
  • Travel: Possess a valid passport and are able to travel internationally.
  • Post-Graduation: Open to starting a full-time position upon graduation.

  • M&A Expertise: Strong interest in mergers and acquisitions, with an understanding of M&A processes, financial modeling, and valuation techniques.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated strong analytical skills, with experience in financial analysis, valuation, and market research.
  • Experience: Prior experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or related fields through internships, projects, or coursework is preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to CJ’s long-term growth objectives.
  • Cultural Competency: High cultural adaptability and openness, particularly in navigating global markets and understanding diverse business environments.
  • Interest in Food Industry and CPG: A genuine interest in the food industry and FMCG sector, with a passion for understanding industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Language Proficiency: Native in English; proficiency in Korean or additional languages is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling tools, Excel, and related software for data analysis and presentation.
