CJ CheilJedang invites global talents to join our 2025 Global Summer Internship at our R&D Center in Suwon, South Korea. This intensive 8-week program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Food R&D, specifically in the development of packaging solutions. You’ll work on projects that consider consumer convenience, sustainability, and cost efficiency, contributing to CJ’s ongoing efforts to create environmentally responsible packaging for food products.

03 What You’ll Do

You’ll be fully integrated into CJ CheilJedang’s Packaging R&D Team at our Suwon R&D Center, contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for food products.

Your key responsibilities include:


  • Sustainable Packaging Development: Collaborate with the team to research and develop eco-friendly packaging materials and solutions that reduce environmental impact while maintaining product quality.
  • Consumer-Centered Solutions: Develop packaging that optimizes consumer convenience, balancing ease of use with sustainability and cost considerations.
  • Cost Efficiency Analysis: Support the development of packaging solutions that meet sustainability goals without compromising cost efficiency, ensuring both environmental and business objectives are achieved.
  • Material Research: Conduct thorough research on packaging materials, including biodegradable and recyclable options, assessing their performance in food packaging applications.
  • Regulatory and Market Analysis: Ensure compliance with international packaging regulations and adapt solutions to meet varying global market demands, focusing on sustainability trends.

Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in sustainable packaging development and contribute to projects that support CJ CheilJedang’s global food business and sustainability goals.

04 Who You Are

[Minimum Qualifications]


  • Commitment: Able to commit to an on-site, full-time internship.
  • Academic Status: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a 4-year college or university outside of South Korea, pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Organic Chemistry), with an expected graduation date by December 2025.
  • Relocation: Willing to relocate to our CJ CheilJedang R&D Center in Suwon, South Korea, for the duration of the internship.
  • Travel: Possess a valid passport and are able to travel internationally.
  • Post-GraduationOpen to starting a full-time position upon graduation.

[Qualifications]


  • Relevant Academic Background: Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or another closely related field is a must.
  • Sustainability Focus: Strong understanding of sustainable practices in packaging and a genuine interest in developing eco-friendly solutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyze data related to materials, cost efficiency, and sustainability in packaging.
  • Experience: Prior experience or coursework in material science, packaging technology, or sustainability is preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and strategically to develop packaging solutions that balance environmental impact, consumer convenience, and cost.
  • Cultural Competency: Openness to living and working in Korea, with the ability to engage effectively with global markets.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; proficiency in Korean or additional languages is a plus.
