CJ CheilJedang invites global talents to join our 2025 Global Summer Internship at our R&D Center in Suwon, South Korea. This intensive 8-week program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Flavor R&D. You’ll work on innovative projects to develop new and exciting flavors for food products, catering to global consumer preferences.

03 What You’ll Do

As a Flavor R&D Intern, you’ll be fully integrated into CJ CheilJedang’s Flavor R&D Team at our Suwon R&D Center, contributing to the development of new flavor solutions that appeal to diverse global markets.

Your key responsibilities include:


  • Flavor Development: Conduct research and experimentation to develop innovative flavors for a variety of food products, aligning with global consumer preferences and trends.
  • Consumer-Centric Solutions: Work on flavor solutions that prioritize consumer appeal, ensuring that flavor profiles meet the expectations of different markets while maintaining authenticity and taste quality.
  • Cost Efficiency: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure flavor solutions are developed with cost efficiency in mind, balancing quality with business objectives.
  • Sustainability Integration: Research sustainable ingredients and processes that can be incorporated into flavor development, helping reduce environmental impact.
  • Global Flavor Trends Research: Track and analyze global flavor trends, identifying opportunities for CJ to stay ahead of consumer demand in various international markets.

Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in flavor development, contributing to projects that play a key role in CJ CheilJedang’s mission to deliver innovative, consumer-focused food solutions globally.

04 Who You Are

[Minimum Qualifications]


  • Commitment: Able to commit to an on-site, full-time internship.
  • Academic Status: Currently enrolled in or graduated from a 4-year college or university outside of South Korea, pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry), with an expected graduation date by December 2025.
  • Relocation: Willing to relocate to our CJ CheilJedang R&D Center in Suwon, South Korea, for the duration of the internship.
  • Travel: Possess a valid passport and are able to travel internationally.
  • Post-Graduation: Open to starting a full-time position upon graduation.

[Qualifications]


  • Relevant Academic Background: Majoring in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another closely related field is a must.
  • Flavor Science Expertise: Strong interest in flavor development, with knowledge of sensory analysis, flavor compounds, and how flavors interact with different food products.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyze data related to flavor chemistry and ingredient functionality.
  • Experience: Prior experience or coursework in flavor development, food product formulation, or related fields is preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop innovative flavor solutions that balance consumer preferences, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
  • Cultural Competency: Openness to living and working in Korea, with the ability to engage effectively with global markets.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; proficiency in Korean or additional languages is a plus.
